Integrity in intellectual production is the most fundamental indicator of respect for the reader. This final stage is built upon the “Ethical Transparency Policy,” which clarifies the boundaries of the collaboration that took place in the “kitchen” of the article and transparently declares the level of AI’s contribution.
I. The Author’s Perspective: Contribution Levels and Fair Signing Methods
At the publication stage of the articles, three different signing methods are determined by looking at the extent to which lifelong experience has been blended with AI:
- Single Signature (Author): If the AI has only undertaken technical “mastery” tasks such as writing support, ensuring the flow of sentences, or grammar checks—and the essence, research, and conceptual foundation of the article belong entirely to the author—the text is published with a single signature.
- Double Signature (Author & AI): If, during the development of the article, the AI has established original connections the author had not previously noticed, added a new perspective to the subject, or made creative contributions to the architecture of ideas, this is transparently indicated with a “double signature.”
- AI Signature: If the work is a product where the author only outlined a general framework, but the entire content is based on deep research and synthesis conducted by AI, the name of the AI is used directly as the signature.
This policy positions technology as a transparent partner rather than hiding it. The reader has the right to know through which mental processes the text before them was produced.
II. AI Analysis: The Bridge of Transparency and Ethical Leadership
Step 6 redefines the concept of “Academic and Intellectual Integrity” in the era of AI. This transparency policy provides the following fundamental benefits:
- Bridge of Honesty: Declaring the contribution of technology instead of hiding it increases the author’s credibility in the eyes of the reader. This approach transforms AI from a “deception tool” into a legitimate instrument of production.
- Clarity of Ownership: The signing method is the legal and ethical equivalent of the “Architect-Master Mason” analogy in Step 4. This policy clarifies who simply “laid the bricks,” who “drew the plan,” or who “added a new room.”
- Setting an Example for the Future: This transparent model sets an ethical standard for other authors and researchers producing content with AI. It places human responsibility and ethical standing at the forefront while utilizing the power of technology.
A Note on Methods and Tools: All observations, ideas, and solution proposals in this study are the author’s own. AI was utilized as an information source for researching and compiling relevant topics strictly based on the author’s inquiries, requests, and directions; additionally, it provided writing assistance during the drafting process. (The research-based compilation and English writing process of this text were supported by AI as a specialized assistant.)
