Bu makale, futbolda sakatlık bahanesiyle yapılan zaman geçirmelerin ve haksız atak kesintilerinin önüne geçmek için radikal bir kural değişikliği önermektedir. Mevcut sistemde hakemin oyunu durdurması suistimallere açık olduğu için; maç sürerken yerde kalan oyuncuyla orta hakemin değil, sahaya girecek olan 4. hakemin ilgilenmesi önerilmektedir. Bu sayede oyunun temposu bozulmayacak, kötü niyetli “yerde yatma” taktikleri kendiliğinden son bulacak ve futbolun akıcılığı korunacaktır.

The 4th Official Reform This article proposes a radical rule change to prevent time-wasting and the disruption of attacks under the guise of player injuries. Since the current system of referees stopping the game is prone to abuse, the proposal suggests that the 4th official should enter the pitch to attend to a fallen player while the match continues. By shifting this responsibility, the momentum of the game remains uninterrupted, tactical “play-acting” is discouraged, and the overall fluidity of football is preserved.
