Bu çalışma, modern voleybolun artan fiziksel yoğunluğu ve yayıncılık dinamikleri doğrultusunda, setlerin matematiksel olarak kesinleştiği anlarda sonlandırılmasını öngören “Erken Set Kararı” (ESK) sistemini önermektedir. Makale, iki temel model üzerine kurgulanmıştır: Her an geçerli olan “Sabit 10 Sayı Farkı” ve setin ilerleyişine göre daralan “4 Basamaklı Dinamik Eşik Sistemi” (12/10, 16/9, 20/8, 24/7). İstatistiksel veriler, 24-17 gibi kritik eşiklerde geri dönüş olasılığının %0.3’ün altında olduğunu kanıtlamaktadır. Önerilen bu reform; sporcu sağlığını korumayı, maç sürelerini öngörülebilir kılmayı ve oyunun her anındaki rekabet dozajını artırmayı hedeflemektedir.

This study proposes the “Early Set Decision” (ESD) system, a reform designed to conclude volleyball sets when the outcome becomes statistically certain, addressing both the high physical demands of the modern game and the needs of sports broadcasting. The proposal introduces two distinct models: the “Static 10-Point Gap” and the “4-Step Dynamic Threshold System” (ratios of 12/10, 16/9, 20/8, 24/7). Statistical analysis demonstrates that the win probability for a trailing team at critical thresholds, such as 24-17, is less than 0.3%. By implementing these models, the reform aims to mitigate unnecessary physical load on athletes, ensure predictable match durations, and maximize spectator engagement by maintaining high-stakes competition throughout the entire set.
