YouTube Kullanım Alışkanlıkları ve Oynatma Listelerinin Önemi
YouTube, bilgisayar, telefon, tablet ve akıllı televizyon gibi farklı cihazlarda sürekli ve kesintisiz bir deneyim sunarak güzel zaman geçirmemizi sağlıyor.
YouTube’un kullanıcıya büyük kolaylık sunan özelliklerinden biri de oynatma listeleridir (playlist). Kullanıcı, yeterli sayıda oynatma listesi hazırladığında YouTube’u daha verimli ve anlamlı bir şekilde kullanabilir, izlediklerini düzenli bir biçimde arşivleyebilir. Be listeleri çevresiyle paylaşabilir.
Oynatma Listeleri Oluşturma ve Sınıflandırma
İlk oynatma listesini hazırladığım tarihi tam olarak anımsamamakla birlikte, özellikle pandemi döneminde evde geçirdiğim zamanlarda YouTube’da oynatma listeleri oluşturmanın ne kadar faydalı olduğunu farkettim. İzlediğim videoları önem sırasına göre arşivledim, ardından bu videoları başlıklar altında topladım. Zamanla oynatma listelerinin sayısı arttıkça, farklı ölçütlere ve konularına göre liste başlıkları belirledim. Oynatma listelerine eklemeleri bazen izleme sırasında, bazen de izledikten sonra gerçekleştirdim. YouTube’un telefon/tablet uygulamasında oynatma listesini tanımladıktan sonra giriş yapılmış bütün cihazlardan bu listelere eklemeler yaptım.
Oynatma Listesi Türleri ve Paylaşım Seçenekleri
YouTube’da üç farklı şekilde oynatma listesi oluşturulabiliyor:
- Gizli Oynatma Listesi: Sadece listeyi oluşturan kullanıcının giriş yaptığı cihazlarda erişilebilen ve dışarıya kapalı listeler. Sadece kendi ilgi alanımızdaki videoları listelediğimiz oynatma listelerini bu şekilde tanımlamak rahat hareket etme şansı verir.
- Herkese Açık Oynatma Listesi: Hazırlayan kişi ve herkes tarafından görülebilen, paylaşılabilen listeler. Bu listelere eklerken bu listeyi herkesi göreceğini düşünerek daha özenli olmak gerekiyor.
- Liste Dışı Oynatma Listesi: Sadece belirli kişilerle paylaşılan, ortak ekleme ve çıkarma yapılabilen özel listeler. Paylaşılan kişiler listeye video ekleyebilir veya çıkarabilir, eklenen içerikler farklı sıralama seçenekleriyle sunulabilir.
Oynatma listelerinin sıralaması listenin özelliğine göre olmalıdır. Örneğin bir Haber-Yorum Oynatma Listesi en son eklenen en başta olacak şekilde sıralamak en kullanışlısıdır. Yapay Zeka ile ilgili hızla gelişen bir konudaki listeyi en yeni yayımlanan en başta olacak şekilde sıralamak en taze bilgiye en kolay ulaşmayı sağlar. Çevremizdeki kişilerle oluşturduğumuz Liste Dışı Oynatma Listeleri için en kullanışlı sıralama en son paylaşılan en üstte olacak şekildedir.
Oynatma listelerini hazırlık aşamasında ve belli bir birikime ulaşana kadar Gizli Oynatma Listesi olarak hazırlayıp daha sonra bunlar Herkese Açık ya da Liste Dışı Listeler olarak paylaşılabilir. Bütün listeler her şekle geçiş yapılabilir.
YouTube Oynatma Listelerinin Eksiklikleri
Oynatma listeleri çoğaldıkça, benzer konulardaki listeleri daha üst düzeyde veya grup şeklinde arşivleme ihtiyacı doğdu. Ancak YouTube’da şu an için oynatma listelerini gruplandırma veya üst başlık altında toplama özelliği bulunmuyor. Ayrıca abone olunan kanalları da oynatma listeleri benzeri bir yapıda kategorize edip paylaşmak mümkün değil. Eğer YouTube, abone listelerini de oynatma listeleri gibi gruplandırma ve paylaşma imkânı sunsa, hem kullanıcılar hem de platform açısından faydalı olurdu.
Oynatma Listelerinin Web Sayfasında Gruplandırılması
YouTube’da gruplandırma olanağı olmadığı için, hazırladığım oynatma listelerinden herkese açık olanları birer web sayfası altında, farklı başlıklar halinde topladım. Başlıklara uymayan listeleri ise genel bir başlık altında topladım. Oluşturduğum oynatma listesi sayfaları:
- Müzik Oynatma Listeleri: Dünyadan müzikler, Türkiye’den müzikler, klasik müzikler, şarkılar, türküler, pop müzik gibi çeşitli başlıklarda listeler oluşturdum. Ayrıca beğendiğim sanatçıların özel oynatma listeleri de yer alıyor.
- Canlı Yayın Oynatma Listeleri: Pandemi döneminde en çok izlediğim videolar, dünyanın farklı yerlerinden canlı yayınlar oldu. Bunları kıtalara göre (Avrupa, Asya, Amerika, Okyanusya, Afrika, Antarktika, Uzay) sınıflandırdım. Leylek, kartal gibi belirli canlılara veya doğa yayınlarına özel listeler de hazırladım.
- Sesli Kitap ve Kitaplarla İlgili Oynatma Listeleri: Türkçe seslendirilmiş kitaplar, dünyadan kitaplar ve kitaplarla ilgili hazırlanan videoları içeren oynatma listeleri oluşturdum.
- Sinema, Dizi ve Tiyatro Listeleri: Dünya sineması, Türk filmleri, yapımcıların paylaştığı filmler, sinema ve tiyatroya dair çeşitli başlıklarda oynatma listeleri hazırladım.
- Haber ve Yorum Listeleri: İzlediğim haber ve yorum kanallarının önemli videolarını bu başlık altında topladım.
- Bilgi Oynatma Listeleri: Bilgi verici kanalların videolarını çeşitli başlıklar altında derledim.
- Kendi Hazırladığım Videolar: YouTube’da yayınladığım tüm videolar, bloglardan oluşturduğum videolar, klipler ve kısa videolar, dünyayla veya Türkiye’yle ilgili hazırladığım videolar, bulut videoları gibi özgün içerikleri içeren oynatma listeleri hazırladım.
- Dil Öğretimi Oynatma Listeleri: İngilizce ve diğer diller için hem orijinal hem de Türkçe anlatımlı dil öğretimi videolarını dört ayrı oynatma listesinde topladım.
- Eğlence ve Diğer Listeler: Şaka, komik video, bulmaca, yarışma, oyun, şov gibi eğlence videolarını bir araya getirdim.
- Ayrıca genel başlık altında, kanal önerileri, ilginç videolar, günlük bilgiler, el becerileri, ünlü kişiler, evcil hayvanlar ve çocuklarla ilgili videoları da topladım.
Liste Dışı Oynatma Listeleri ve Paylaşımlar
Yaklaşık 200 başlık altında oynatma listesi oluşturdum. Çevremdeki kişilerle özel olarak paylaştığım liste dışı oynatma listeleri de bulunuyor. YouTube’da gezinirken liste dışı listelerimizin olduğu kişiler için ilgi çekici bulduğum videoları bu listelere ekliyor ve zaman zaman ilgili kişilerle paylaşıyorum. Liste dışı oynatma listelerinde paylaşım yapılan kişinin ilgisini çekecek yeni içeriklere kolayca ulaşmasını hedefliyorum.

YouTube Usage Habits and the Importance of Playlists
YouTube allows us to have a good time by offering a continuous and uninterrupted experience on different devices such as computers, phones, tablets, and smart televisions.
One of the features of YouTube that offers great convenience to the user is playlists. When a user prepares a sufficient number of playlists, they can use YouTube more efficiently and meaningfully, and archive what they watch in an organized manner. They can share these lists with their circle.
Creating and Classifying Playlists
Although I do not exactly remember the date I prepared my first playlist, I realized how beneficial it is to create playlists on YouTube, especially during the time I spent at home during the pandemic period. I archived the videos I watched according to their order of importance, then gathered these videos under headings. As the number of playlists increased over time, I determined list titles according to different criteria and subjects. I sometimes made additions to the playlists during viewing, and sometimes after viewing. After defining the playlist on the YouTube phone/tablet application, I made additions to these lists from all devices logged in.
Playlist Types and Sharing Options
Three different types of playlists can be created on YouTube:
- Private Playlist: Lists that can only be accessed on devices where the user creating the list is logged in and are closed to the outside. Defining playlists where we list only videos in our own area of interest in this way gives the chance to act comfortably.
- Public Playlist: Lists that can be seen and shared by the preparer and everyone else. When adding to these lists, it is necessary to be more careful considering that everyone will see this list.
- Unlisted Playlist: Special lists shared only with specific people, where joint additions and removals can be made. The people shared with can add or remove videos to the list, and added content can be presented with different sorting options.
The sorting of playlists should be according to the characteristic of the list. For example, sorting a News-Comment Playlist so that the most recently added is at the top is the most useful. Sorting a list on a rapidly developing subject like Artificial Intelligence so that the newest published is at the top provides the easiest access to the freshest information. For Unlisted Playlists we create with people around us, the most useful sorting is with the most recently shared at the top.
Playlists can be prepared as Private Playlists during the preparation phase and until they reach a certain accumulation, and then these can be shared as Public or Unlisted Lists. All lists can be transitioned to any form.
Shortcomings of YouTube Playlists
As playlists multiplied, the need arose to archive lists on similar subjects at a higher level or as a group. However, YouTube currently does not have a feature to group playlists or gather them under a main heading. Also, it is not possible to categorize and share subscribed channels in a structure similar to playlists. If YouTube offered the opportunity to group and share subscription lists like playlists, it would be beneficial for both users and the platform.
Grouping Playlists on a Web Page
Since there is no possibility of grouping on YouTube, I gathered the public ones among the playlists I prepared under different headings on a web page. I gathered the lists that did not fit the headings under a general heading. The playlist pages I created:
- Music Playlists: I created lists under various headings such as music from the world, music from Turkey, classical music, songs, folk songs, pop music. Also, there are special playlists of artists I like.
- Live Stream Playlists: The videos I watched the most during the pandemic period were live broadcasts from different parts of the world. I classified these according to continents (Europe, Asia, America, Oceania, Africa, Antarctica, Space). I also prepared special lists for specific living things like storks, eagles, or nature broadcasts.
- Audiobook and Book-Related Playlists: I created playlists containing books voiced in Turkish, books from the world, and videos prepared about books.
- Cinema, Series, and Theatre Lists: I prepared playlists under various headings regarding world cinema, Turkish movies, movies shared by producers, cinema, and theatre.
- News and Comment Lists: I gathered the important videos of the news and commentary channels I watch under this heading.
- Information Playlists: I compiled videos of informative channels under various headings.
- Videos Prepared by Myself: I prepared playlists containing original content such as all videos I published on YouTube, videos I created from blogs, clips and short videos, videos I prepared about the world or Turkey, cloud videos.
- Language Teaching Playlists: I gathered language teaching videos with both original and Turkish narration for English and other languages in four separate playlists.
- Entertainment and Other Lists: I brought together entertainment videos such as jokes, funny videos, puzzles, competitions, games, shows.
- Also, under the general heading, I collected videos related to channel recommendations, interesting videos, daily information, handicrafts, famous people, pets, and children.
Unlisted Playlists and Sharing
I have created playlists under approximately 200 headings. There are also unlisted playlists that I share privately with people around me. While browsing YouTube, I add videos I find interesting for people with whom we have unlisted lists to these lists and share them with the relevant people from time to time. In unlisted playlists, I aim for the person shared with to easily reach new content that will attract their interest.
